Like I always said, just because man can garner some degree of fame or recognition doesn't mean that it translates well into his having acute business sense. With this in mind, be prepared to hit up TAGS for a going out of business sale in which everything must GO!

Singer/producer, Kandi Burress, Smyrna based clothier boutique, TAGS, is about to close its doors after only a few months of motherfucking operation!

Speaking of operation, TAGS actual hours of operation conflicted with stated hours on license -- which was a major part of its failure but leave it to her closest supporters, i.e, family, to say that the store's failure was based squarely on the economy.

Word to up and coming entrepreneurs, part of having a successful business, in addition to effective PR, promotional marketing, etc is to make certain that the doors are open for business at hours stated to the public and not when your ass feels like it.

I know that I tried to be a patron of her store several times. Each time the store was closed when it was supposed to be open. So she cannot say that it was all the fault of the economy because being a lazy business owner has a big hand in the success or failure of a business too. There's a thought Kandi.

The economy has nothing to do with her store failing. TAGS stayed closed a lot right after she opened it for business. So the very notion of using the economy as an excuse to having a direct baring on her business when she never put in the effort to make her business succeed is a cop out. Not buying that at all.

It was her thinking that she had enough star power to make her store successful and that she didn't have to put in the work to make sure that it was successful like making sure that the store was open for herself rather than relying on her partner and hired help. TAGS stayed closed more than it did open more than any store in West Village.

This is a clue that Kandi may need to stick to making music.

I don't think that Kandi's boutique is going out of business. I just think that there was some misunderstanding as to when her boutique would be open in accordance to the days.

Maybe some of the patrons like Journey and Miss Jones didn't come on the days that it would be open for a set number of hours but I really don't think that it is going out of business but the fact that there were issues with the business hours may have hurt in regards to her having strong sales.
